Motability is a government-funded scheme that aims to give disabled drivers greater independence by allowing them to exchange their mobility allowance for a car of their choice. As an established Mazda dealer in Dundee, Barnetts Mazda is proud to support the Motability Scheme.

Leasing Options

There are two types of leasing agreement available on the Motability Scheme.

Contract Hire is the most popular option and is an agreement of three years that covers the lease of your Mazda Motability car as well as your insurance, breakdown cover, road tax and aftersales care. The Contract Hire option allows you to travel up to 60,000 miles over the duration of the agreement.

Hire Purchase is the second option, and is an agreement of between two and five years.It allows you to buy your car and is ideal for customers wanting to travel over 60,000 miles throughout the duration of the agreement. Choosing this option means you are responsible for funding insurance, road tax, break down cover and maintenance.

Am I Eligible?

Customers receiving the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance or the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement are eligible for the Motability Scheme. If you are unable to drive, or do not wish to, you may nominate up to two people to drive on your behalf under the scheme.Parents or carers of a child with a disability are able to apply on their behalf.
